John Lewis Money Car Insurance FAQs
How do I make a claim?
As John Lewis Money work with a panel of insurers, you’ll need to contact the specific insurer that provided your policy. You’ll need to know your policy number and when your policy started. Your policy number can be found in your policy schedule and on any correspondence you’ve received in relation to your cover.
All of our insurer contact details can be found in our help hub. If you’re struggling to find your policy number or your insurer’s details, please call us on 0345 608 9031. Calls may be monitored or recorded, and call charges may vary.
It would be handy to have the following ready:
Personal details to confirm your identity
Policy number
Details of the event and the losses
Names and addresses of anyone else involved and their registration number
Information ready about what's happened, when, and what action, if any, you've taken so far
Any dashcam footage or photos of the accident and damage to vehicles involved
For policies with a start date before 1 July 2026, please call us on 0330 024 0613. All calls may be recorded and monitored, and call charges may vary.
Am I insured to drive other cars?
If you’re over 25 years of age, you are insured against accidents while driving someone else’s car. If you’re likely to be driving their car for long periods of time, you may want to ask to be added as a named driver for comprehensive cover.
There are instances where you would need separate cover, such as driving a van, classic collectable, or supercar. You will find details in your policy documents.
Can I insure two cars at the same time?
As we don’t offer a multi-car policy, you’ll need separate policies for each vehicle you want to be insured to drive. There is no limit to the number of individual policies you can have, providing you meet our eligibility and credit checks.
Does car insurance cover repairs?
It depends on the cause of the damage. If your vehicle is damaged as the result of an accident, or certain events beyond your control (such as potholes, vandalism, or being hit by another car while parked), yes. This is subject to terms and conditions.
You are not covered for wear and tear from everyday use.
I have a policy with you already, how do I get help?
If you need additional support, you can find answers to most queries, as well as ways to get in touch by email or over the phone, in our help hub.
