Personal possessions cover can be added to your Bronze, Silver or Gold home insurance policy. While contents insurance protects the contents in your home, this optional extension helps to safeguard your belongings both inside the home and when you take them out and about or on holiday.
Valuables are items that are covered within the home, but are usually higher value than standard contents.

What are personal possessions?
Personal possessions are personal effects, jewellery and clothing that you or your family own or are legally responsible for, which are usually worn or carried outside your home.
Personal possessions cover ensures they are covered both within and outside the home. It’s available as an optional extension which can apply in one of two ways:
Unspecified - If you have any personal possessions individually valued up to £3,000, you can select the optional extension for “unspecified personal possessions”. This will provide cover for individual items valued up to £3,000, within a total limit of:
£10,000 for Bronze
£15,000 for Silver
£20,000 for Gold
Specified - If you have an individual personal possession which is valued in excess of £3,000 but no more than £20,000, this will need to be individually specified under the optional extension.
What are valuables?
Valuables are specific high-value items that are only covered whilst they’re in the home. Valuables include:
Articles containing gold, silver or other precious metals or stones
Stamp, coin and medal collections
Furs
Jewellery
Watches
Paintings and other works of art
With our Bronze, Silver and Gold policies, cover is included for unspecified valuables within the home, up to certain limits. This provides cover for individual items valued up to £3,000. The limit of cover provided for the total of individual items valued up to £3,000 is:
£10,000 for Bronze
£20,000 for Silver
£40,000 for Gold
If you have any individual items valued at over £3,000, these will need to be individually specified under the optional extension. If selected, they’ll be covered in addition to the contents sum insured (and unspecified valuables limits).
